Mini car inspired by the BMC in 1955 after the onset of oil shortages hit Europe after the closure of the Suez Canal in the mid-1950s.To mitigate the problem, the BMC plans to create a vehicle that can move with minimal fuel consumption.

High-performance version was produced together with famous racing car manufacturer, John Cooper. The car quickly became a fashion or lifestyle until his prowess was on display in the film The Italian Job in 1969 that shows Mini afford down the stairs, took obstacles, shrewd move on the road and high jump on a moving bus.
Millionth Mini Cars released in 1965 and the following year joined BMC British Leyland Mini Clubman while maintaining yield as the top model at the time.
